We found this fantastic little Gold Mining town only 1hr from Townsville! This is a must do place to visit the journey goes like this , over dead man's creek, devils elbow and x marks the spot. Two beautiful heritage listed pubs but this cafe run by Jacqueline - Thorps Building Heritage Tearooms & Treasures is a must. You can have coffee/tea and good old fashioned homemade scones or lamingtons and we had the peach gem balls with cream. We have been in everyday and tried all and all have left us wanting more. We'll be back! Next time we will sit out the back and enjoy the greenery and peace of Jacqueline's little paradise

Best place in Ravenswood to grab a great cuppa, a fresh scone and service with a smile. The collection of relics and memorabilia from a bygone era inside perfectly blends with the historical charm of the place.

We were in Ravenswood for two days and ended up at Thorps Building Heritage Tea Room three times — we simply couldn’t get enough of the scones! Hands down, the best I’ve ever had. The charming history and collection of keepsakes throughout the store create such a special atmosphere. It added so much to our first visit to Ravenswood and made the whole experience feel like stepping back in time in the best way. The owners were absolutely lovely — so welcoming and warm, they really made us feel right at home. They even let us bring in our crazy 8-month-old dog and were incredibly pet friendly, which meant a lot to us.

Enjoyed a coffee and jam and cream scones here today. Lots of historical memorabilia to see here too. Fantastic part of history in the collection on display. Ravenswood is a lovely community, the nearby gold mine seems to be getting mighty close to the town. In fact it's at the back of the Catholic church now. Hopefully they won't destroy the town in search of the gold. Pay by cash and save the businesses some money, they appreciate it too. And save some money yourself, the banks don't need it Cash is king. Gus and Kerrie - Brisbane
